Day 10's message was "love is unconditional." In God's eyes, the ideal marriage is one in which you don't tell your partner "I love you because..." but rather "I love you, period." We were supposed to do something out of the ordinary for each other to prove that our love was based on choice and not just positive attributes. It took me a long time to think of it, but I finally decided to clean Jordan's shower. We don't use the same shower because it's really small and I don't like the shower head. I use the guest shower and never even look in his. No one sees it but him, and, well, I'm sure you can imagine what greeted me when I drew back the curtain yesterday afternoon. It was gross. I removed two empty shampoo bottles and a worn out old bath puff and cleaned it from top to bottom. I even took down the shower curtains and washed them. Somewhere along the way I decided I might as well clean the rest of the bathroom, and then I figured what's the point of having a sparkling bathroom if the bedroom's a disaster? I really wanted to go above and beyond, so I vacuumed, dusted, swept, mopped, scrubbed, organized, and threw out a bunch of trash. I changed the sheets and blanket on our bed. It took me all afternoon!
When Jordan got home I asked him to help me put away a little laundry, and when he went upstairs to our bedroom he didn't say anything. For a while I thought he didn't notice (which, if I had "before" pictures to show you, you'd see was just impossible), but then he admitted that he was going to clean the bathroom for me, and now he didn't know what he was going to do. I'm glad I cleaned it though. He never would've bothered to clean his own shower, and I didn't want him to spend a bunch of time cleaning after he'd been at work all day. He ended up making me a perfect bowl of egg drop soup last night, which I loved.
We are a quarter of the way done! Wow!
P.S. I am not going to complain about it here, but if you want to see something really stupid that happened in my state recently, go to my other blog.
