Jordan, my mom and I took Suzi out to Split Creek Farm yesterday to see the goats. A friend had posted their open house on Facebook, and I never visited the website, so I was expecting an event similar to what they had last spring. (Amazing how Suzi looks like such a baby in those pictures!) It was totally different. There were a bunch of vendors there, and it looked more like a craft fair than anything.
We ran into some friends we hadn't seen in a long time.
Of course, we bought a few things: a scarf and a finger puppet from Lucky Acres Farm, which raises alpacas. We met two of the alpacas and they were so sweet, but the pictures are on my mom's camera because mine died. I'll put one on here as soon as she sends it.
We bought some goat cheese too. It is so good! We also got a little spreader made by Jonathan's Wild Cherry Spoons, and it is just perfect for spreading goat cheese. If you are (in Upstate SC) looking for a local place to buy some amazing unique Christmas gifts, head on out to Split Creek. Sometimes the best way to take care of those tough people to shop for is to buy them something edible. Then if they like it, you can buy them more next year! They also have wooden ornaments and other craft items. The shop is open Monday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sundays, 1:30 pm - 6:00 pm. They also ship their products if you are out of town.
