Robert Foster was born at home in the water on Saturday at 7:17 pm. At 6 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long, he is our smallest baby. He loves to nurse already, so I'm sure he won't be that little for long! We love our sweet little guy.
A special thanks to our friend
Jenn who came to the birth and took a ton of incredible photos for us, including the two in this post. I just love them and will treasure them forever. She did a fantastic job of capturing the birth and most of the time I didn't even notice she was taking pictures.
The birth was amazing. I didn't use a single Hypnobabies script, but I was right--taking the class was a good idea. Not everything went the way I expected, but I think the important things did. Suzi was present to see her baby brother come into the world and she couldn't have handled it better. She even cut the cord, with a little help from Daddy and Carey! I'm so proud of her. Ivey spent the night with Maw and Paw and will meet Robert today.
I haven't been able to sleep much, but I feel great anyway. Robert is asleep in his
cocoon I made (it totally fits, and so does the hat!) but will probably be waking up soon to nurse. More photos soon, and at some point a birth story too!
